Your favorite influencer isn't just selling you a lifestyle; they are often transmitting a spirit.
Most believers think witchcraft is restricted to pentagrams and dark rituals in the woods. But in the New Testament, witchcraft is defined by a specific mechanism of control. It is the attempt to manipulate someone’s soul to bypass their God-given reason and will. Today, that manipulation has found a high-speed delivery system through digital media and the secular influencer.
The Spirit Behind the Screen
Influence is never neutral. Every piece of content you consume is carrying a frequency, and that frequency originates from either the Spirit of Truth or the spirit of error. When an influencer speaks with authority but lacks an altar, they become an empty channel for deception.
This is exactly how the spirit of Jezebel operates in modern culture. That spirit does not just represent sexual immorality; it represents a thirst for control through the use of false doctrine and emotional manipulation. It seeks to sedate your discernment so it can lead you into idolatry.
The Scripture warned us that this would happen through people who have the appearance of wisdom but lack the power of God. 1 Timothy 4:1 states, "Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons." This is the spiritual reality of your social media feed.
If you are not anchored in the Word, your worldview is being shaped by demonic doctrines disguised as "self-care" and "empowerment." These are the modern veneers that witchcraft uses to enter your household.
Rebellion and False Prophecy
Witchcraft is the spiritual fruit of rebellion. When someone operates outside of God’s established order but still wants to exert power, they have to use witchcraft to get it. That is why the Bible equates these two things directly.
1 Samuel 15:23 says, "For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry." Many influencers today are in open rebellion against God's design for the family, gender, and authority. Because they have rejected God's order, they are forced to use psychological manipulation to maintain their following.
This creates a counterfeit prophetic environment. A true prophet leads you to the feet of Jesus. A false influencer leads you to the feet of your own desires. They offer you "light" that is actually darkness, and their "truth" is nothing more than a high-production lie designed to keep you bound to the culture.
We are seeing a generation of believers who are more "discipled" by their favorite content creators than they are by the Holy Spirit. If you find yourself more moved by a 60-second video than by 60 minutes in the Presence, you are likely under a spell of manipulation.
The Daniel Anointing in a Babylon System
The culture we live in functions like ancient Babylon. It wants to change your name, your diet, and your God. It uses the media as a tool to conform your mind to its image. To survive this, you need more than just good ideas; you need the Daniel anointing.
Daniel lived in the heart of a kingdom dedicated to the occult. He was surrounded by influencers who served false gods. But Daniel was not shaped by Babylon because he was fully submitted to the King of Kings. He had an excellent spirit that the magicians and astrologers could not replicate.
Daniel 1:20 says, "And in all matters of wisdom and understanding about which the king examined them, he found them ten times better than all the magicians and astrologers who were in all his realm." This is the standard for the believer today. You don't take back culture by copying the world's methods. You take it back by being ten times better because you have access to the mind of Christ.
Believers must stop being passive consumers of media and start being spiritual gatekeepers of their own minds. You cannot expect to walk in dominion while you are being entertained by the very spirits you are called to cast out.
Discerning the Voice of Deception
The hallmark of witchcraft is that it makes you feel like you are in control while it is actually leading you into a cage. It uses flowery language and emotional high-points to bypass your biblical filter. This is why discernment is not a luxury; it is a survival skill.
You have to learn to look past the production value and the charismatic personality to see what spirit is driving the message. Does this content lead you toward repentance and holiness? Or does it validate your flesh and distance you from the local church?
Jesus told us that the truth would set us free. But the opposite is also true: a lie will keep you in bondage. If an influencer’s message contradicts the Word of God, it is an act of spiritual warfare against your soul.
2 Corinthians 11:14 reminds us, "And no wonder! For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light." Do not be fooled by the aesthetic. Just because a message feels "good" or "positive" doesn't mean it is from God.

The goal of the enemy is to occupy your attention so he can eventually occupy your heart. He wants to use the screen in your pocket to build a stronghold in your mind. But the Holy Spirit is raising up a remnant that refuses to be manipulated.
You are called to be a light in the darkness, not a mirror of it. That means you must disconnect from the whispers of the world so you can hear the roar of the Lion of Judah. It is time to break the influence of every false doctrine and return to the unadulterated Truth of God.
Culture belongs to King Jesus. It is time we start acting like it.
